what is Pickleball?
There is no denying the recent exponential growth of pickleball.
Pickleball was first played in 1965 by Joel Pritchard and his two friends, Barney McCallum and Bill Bell in Seattle USA. They wanted something to do and decided to put a net up, cut the end off the oar of a paddle to utilise as a bat. A crew of people that go into a rowing boat are called a pickle crew, as this is where the word pickle was derived from.
The Pickleball court size is 20feet wide by 40 feet long, with the net running through the centre of the court. Up to 4 players can play at once, using paddles and a pickleball, otherwise there is an option to play with 2 players.
The rules of pickleball are quite different to other sports, and will be taught to you as part of your session.
